1st Customer Review : Great Heater, a little loud, but good for white noise at night. NOT like a personal hair dryer as a reviewer said :)
I live in South Dakota, and for those of you who don't know- it can get VERY COLD here. Right now we're having a little "arctic blast" as the weather service calls it and our high temp today was -1 degrees Farenheit, with wind chills 30-40 below. We have a nice, but older 1960's home with old insulation and windows, plus hardwood floors which makes it harder to keep the rooms warm. This heater is a new model for Delonghi, so there weren't any reviews out there when I bought it so I took a chance on it, and I'm glad I did. It kicks out alot of heat, has a programmable thermostat, and has the option of oscillating which spreads the heat around quite well. As far as the loudness goes, yes it is a bit loud for some people, but certainly not even close to a hair dryer!! . But you do get used to it and its great for white noise if you need that to sleep at night. The only thing I dislike about it is that it beeps every time you change a setting, or move it, which is a little annoying...

2nd Customer Review : Works Well For Us!
I have an elderly family member with a lower-circulatory problem and limited mobility, so we needed something to heat localized areas of the house to keep her comfortable. This space heater remote controlled, adjustable thermostat filled the requirements perfectly. Unlike other reviewers, I have no problem with the fan noise -- it's a small unit and has to "blow" the air -- not terribly loud, but noticeable, definitely not a deterrent for us. The added safety feature (turns off when tipped over) works and has saved us from a couple of mishaps (inadvertent bumps with the wheelchair). It works well in relatively small spaces, heats in seconds, and has proven to be very reliable so far. I'm considering one for the home office (for use in the cooler mornings/evenings).
3rd Customer Review : Deafening
Everything about this heater sounds great: 24 hour timer, digital display, remote etc... But there is one drawback I should have noticed that was omitted from the desciption -- The Noise. This tiny heater is about as loud as a personal hair dryer.

A shame it's this loud because it cancels out every other redeeming factor. I returned mine for a refund. 2 stars.

1st Customer Review : Read Before Buying This Fan!
Amazon states that this heater is 25x22x16. It is just over 13 inches tall and about 10 inches in diameter. This fan is about 1/4 the size I thought it would be. I don't know how Amazon came up with the dimensions they advertise.

The grills you see extend more than halfway around the unit. They oscillate in opposite directions, but they do not move far. The base itself does not oscillate, but it does have a step switch which turns the motion on and off.

At the strongest setting, one can barely feel the hot air blowing from the grills. Air only moves from the very center of the grills. I could not tell the difference between the 3 speeds, but when I adjusted the air speed downward, it quit blowing entirely.

Unlike other heaters I've had, the grills get hot enough to burn you if you touch them. I think they would also get hot enough to combust anything too close. I sacrificed a finger to it so that the rest of you won't have too! Interestingly, the sides...

2nd Customer Review : Better sit CLOSE
After 2 day with heater, it is way too small to heat anything too far away. I have to sit right next to it to feel any heat. Better put it on Max also. My unit for some reason the blows heat on the bottom, then cool air on top. Smart if you want a fan and heater at the same time in the winter. Oscillating doesn't do a thing but make small background noise...You think some kind of insect is in you house. Don't waste you money on this one. Return slip is filled out already.
3rd Customer Review : Great little heater for the price
It is smaller than listed, but a great little heater for a bathroom or to knock off the chill in a smaller size room, say about a 10 X 10 ft size. I bought 3 of them and they are great for my intended purpose. With natural gas going up 48% this winter, they will pay for themselves this season alone.

1st Customer Review : DeLonghi- But For That Ill-PlacedCord
I chose this DeLonghi iron with its patented dual soleplate (ceramic and titanium) for Mrs. Spudman even though she already has irons of various sizes to use for household ironing and her quilting projects. We were curious to see how an 1800 watt iron "designed for professional results" would compare to her T-Fal and Black and Decker irons. We both took the DeLonghi for an initial test drive, and subsequently Mrs. Spudman has taken it for a few more spins around the block.

Our impressions:
The DeLonghi is easily the heaviest of all the Spud family's irons, yet surprisingly it doesn't tire or strain the forearm like I imagined it would. Perhaps this is because of how effortlessly it glides across the fabric.

With 1800 watts the Delonghi has power to spare, but using another high wattage appliance, like a space heater, could trip a circuit breaker as it did in our home. Just be careful.

Mrs. Spudman loves the large water fill cup that comes with...

2nd Customer Review : Awkward cord placement = possible tipping/safety issue
There's no way to review this iron without talking about the power cord placement first. The cord for this iron enters the iron body directly under the handle. At best it's awkward, and at worst, potentially unsafe. While the cord housing allows you to pivot the cord to the side of the handle (allowing the handle to contact its resting surface), you have to make a concerted effort to do so. If you forget: your high-end iron could potentially pitch over. All I can say about this design is: "what were they thinking?"

If you are willing to put up with this:
the iron is heavy, yet glides easily, so reduces the amount of force you have to exert while ironing. It heats quickly and produces plenty of steam. It also includes a separate water container that is the same volume as the water reservoir in the iron.

It irons just fine; you'll have to decide if you want to roll the dice on the cord placement. This is an unfortunate shortcoming in such an expensive iron.
3rd Customer Review : I hate ironing.
I bought this iron for the very reason that there were no consumer reviews I could find rating it one way or the other. Consumer Reports listed it as a good choice. Also I was interested in the ceramic and titanium sole plate.

After using it for about a month, it does the job as described. I wish I could say it made me like ironing, but I still hate the job.

I wish the cord was a bit longer, though; but that is my personal preference and where in my home I iron.

One thing I do like is that the steam surge button really does release a lot of steam and is quite startling upon first hearing.

1st Customer Review : Excellent Heater
This heater is an excellent buy. There is really only two heat output settings. The "third" setting is the "econo" setting and really uses the two different heat settings based on temperature difference between the setting and the room. The fan is not to loud and not too quiet. It is perfect for background noise for sleeping. The safety cutoff switch when the unit tips over works just as described when I tested it. The displayed temperatue setting and other lights are fairly bright and bothered my wife when while we slept. I put a couple of layers of translucent tape over it and it took care of that problem. The stand does not have adjustable height. Ceramic heaters are also safer because their elements do not get glowing hot like most heating elements. When this is combined with the safety cutout, it is much safer than the older style units.

2nd Customer Review : Warm and quiet, a good combo!
I purchased two of these units. One for a home office that is approximately 10 x 12 with 9 foot ceiling and the other one to be used in various other rooms of the house as needed. For the unit in the office, it is the perfect size and does a great job of keeping the room warm. I like the fact that the unit does not get hot to the touch if accidentally touched and that is is fairly quiet. It does have an "Econ" button on it which changes the fan speed from low to high as needed, a nice touch. It has a big bright display that is easy to read from anywhere in the room. Also comes with a handy remote control, not necessary, but a nice to have.

I did try the other unit in our family room which is a large 15 x 17 with 15 foot ceiling and the unit really did not warm the room at all, which I didn't expect it would. So know the limitations of the unit. Even still, in the big room the heater did take a slight chill out of the room, but not enough to justify it running non-stop...
3rd Customer Review : Sophisicated little heater
Michigan: We have an 1800sq ft house with a very open floor plan with central heat that works great except for our closed-off master bed/bath/closet that occupies about 400sq ft and there is a 10 degree difference in there on cold days. We insulated the attic to R60 and had foam injected into the walls, but it actually made my bedroom colder since the heat isn't running constantly now that we have proper insulation. The HVAC guy wanted to sell me on zoning, which is very expensive. So I bought this little heater to see if maybe that would work. It does, and it works great! I have it set up on our dresser, and I just set it to "ECO" mode at 70 degrees. It kicks on only when it needs to, and oscillates warm air around the room. It is very quiet and makes less noise than my tower fan does on low. I'm not sure how it would do if you were heating a room with no supplemental heat, but it works great for making up the difference to get my bedroom on par with the rest of the house...

1st Customer Review : Works well... but no tip-over safety switch
Just purchased this (Lowe's $38) and used it last night. I've used various (all ceramic) models over the years and was very pleased with this one - - planned to return to Lowe's for a second unit and was checking prices on Amazon. Will now be exchanging it for the tower version of this model (didn't realize it featured a multi-function remote) which received great reviews here. The oscillator works well (90 degrees side to side).
NOTE: despite the claim here of an internal tip-over switch (not stated on the carton) this unit will not shut off until the overheat sensor activates. I did not wait for that to occur as I tipped the running unit over backwards, forwards and each side - - the only difference was reduced air output on its back (since the carpet was blocking the fan's air input) and higher temp setting when tipped forward (as the temp+ button contacted the carpet).
Bottom Line: had I not found a more desirable alternative, or preferred a shorter unit, I would...

2nd Customer Review : all the features with little heat
I was excited to have all the features I've been looking for: remote, replaceable filter, oscillation, tip over switch, ceramic, eco option, timer, etc. Tip over switch does not work, it smells toxic at first and it did not heat my tiny tiny room. Its going back.
3rd Customer Review : without the glitch would be good
Bought this from Lowe's. All functions worked well. The timer was odd in that you set how many hours ahead you want to turn it on, but that was not hard to grasp. I had two issues with this unit: You have to turn the timer on every night in order for it to come on in the morning before you get up. You can't set a timer and have it run on its own like a light timer. We were using this for a sunroom so it would be warm when I got up to let the dog out every morning. The problem we had was that we either got a flaky unit, or the whole design was bad, because if we wanted the unit to work properly we had to turn it on and then off before setting the timer. If we didn't do that, the unit would turn on, but the room would still be cold. The nights we remembered to turn it on and off before setting the timer I would wake up to the room being warm and the heat maintained. Since I wanted a low maintenance heater this one was getting to be too much remembering for me and I took it back.

1st Customer Review : Extremely stupid control logic
This heater works reasonably well, it's not too noisy on the LOW setting, but it's electronic control is designed extremely bad. First of all it has three operational modes: LOW, HIGH and AUTO. Low uses half of its heating power and runs the fan on a slower and quieter speed. High - uses full power and is the noisiest. Thermostat setting/operation is not available nether under low nor under high mode.

On Auto mode you can set the desired temperature and the heater will do a reasonably good job of maintaining the set temperature, but - when it's on Auto mode the heater runs on it's full power and becomes noisy.

There is no way to make use of the thermostat with the low heating power.

I think that most people would actually want to use Auto mode with the low power, especially if they use the heater in a bedroom, but some genius at DeLonghi decided to save a few cents by not providing this option.

The heater also 'forgets' your last Auto...

2nd Customer Review : Does the job for small rooms
Picked this up a few weeks ago when it first showed up because my old space heater had a VERY noisy fan, and no thermostat for auto-shutoff.

It saw its first use over the last few days when I intentionally kept the thermostat for the home's heating a bit low, and turned this on in the specific room that was occupied. Not bad - warms up quickly, oscillates smoothly, accurate sensor (double checked against Oregon Sci. homewide system) and changes temperature in a medium-sized room reasonably quickly. Also very quick to turn off when it reaches the right temperature (in its proximity at least, doesn't guarantee it has heated the entire room to the set temp, of course - compensate by setting it another degree or two higher). By forcing it to make up for around a 2-3 degree delta below my comfort zone (homewide setting kept 2-3 lower than I'd like), this stayed on for barely 20-25% of the time and kept me comfortable in a 12x18ish room with medium-high (10 foot) ceilings. 3rd Customer Review : Gets the job done, but is a little noisey and lacks some functionality
I purchased this heater because our house has wall heaters out in the hallway and in the living room, but none in the bedroom. So on cold nights we'd have to leave the bedroom door open and use the hallway heater to heat the hallway, and in turn the rest of the house - not very economical.

The good:

** Puts out plenty of heat to heat a medium sized bedroom

** Noise level is okay on the low heat setting

** Lighted lcd makes reading the settings easy at night, but turns off after a few seconds so it doesn't light up the room

The bad:

** As others have reviewed, the thermostat feature is great but the heater only operates in high heat mode when you have the thermostat feature enabled; in which the fan speed is high, and if you are a light sleeper like me it's enough to wake you (my wife slept right through it).

** It has no memory, so when you power it off, and back on, it...
