1st Customer Review : Delonghi coffee maker
This is our second coffee maker by Delonghi. We love the front-load style. We had a 2 instances of leaking such as is DeLonghi DCF2212T 12-Cup Glass Carafe Drip Coffee Maker, Blackdescribed in former revues. With the first coffee maker, we adjusted our thinking to make sure the access was completely open. After that, we had no problem. We didn't like the lip of the carafe because it inevitably dripped on the counter unless you poured extrememly slow.
The newer model of the same coffee maker has been a dream. First thing we noticed was the redesigned lip on the carafe. It has not dripped one bit. Also, even though the design of the front loader looks the same, we have not had one instance of leaking. The coffee comes out too hot to drink for me, but my husband loves it that way...so it's just about a perfect coffee maker for us. 1st Customer Review : works great, but the carafe is hard to pour from
The least of my worries (I thought) were whether or not the coffee maker carafe would pour well. This carafe ruins the fact that the coffee maker makes great coffee. When you try to pour, either coffee into your cup or water into the maker, it spills ontop the counter. I pour slow, fast, and any possible way you can pour and it still runs down the carafe and spills onto the counter. I have no idea how it does this, but it does. I have never had a pot do this before. A $10 Mr. Coffee pot has never done this, but this $100 dollar one does. It drives me nuts. I would give this five stars if the carafe poured correctly, but I can't because it ruins all the good things about this pot.

Works beautiful and the coffee is just perfect every time. I have had other drip coffee makers, but this one is so easy to use and clean. I like that the water and coffee tubs are easy to fill and I can put this under my cabinets and on my countertop. Looks beautiful too!

Just received this coffeemaker and I couldn't be happier with it. I have had Bunn coffeemakers for many years and in April replaced my 10 year old Bunn with a new one. Well, the new Bunn was terrible. Very cheaply made, was sketchy when it did decide to work and the carafe leaked like crazy, no matter how careful I tried to be while pouring from it. I finally decided to search for a replacement and came across this model from Delonghi. On top of having many options that the Bunn didn't (larger carafe, programmable, auto pause when you pull the carafe out while brewing) it just makes a great cup of coffee! And fast! And the fact that you swing the door out to put water and coffee in so you don't have to pull it out from under the counter makes it even easier and more convenient to use. I'm really happy with it!

1st Customer Review : DeLonghi designed #1 coffee maker!
When my $100 coffee maker quit, I researched coffee makers and found this model from DeLonghi I hadn't heard of before. The design of this model sets a new standard for on-the-counter coffee makers. It is incredible to be able to put the filter, coffee, AND WATER in the maker without moving the machine. The caraffe doesn't drip when pouring into the swing out arm (or into the cup later) so there's no messy drips to wipe up at any time.
The digital clock isn't the quickest to set since you have to hold a button in as it changes in minutes only, but hopefully that won't need set often.
The "aroma" button really works! There actually is a difference in the brewing aroma with it on.
Most importantly, the end product was a great cup of coffee! I'm thrilled with the coffee maker and haven't found a single negative aspect yet, including the price. I HIGHLY recommend this model. Kudos Delonghi, you really outdid yourself here. Amazon's shipping was simple and fast. The...

2nd Customer Review : not quite hot enough
I just got this coffee maker a few days ago and for the most part I like it, but, and this is a major but for me, the coffee just isn't quite hot enough. I find myself throwing my cup in the microwave to get it piping hot, not scalding but hot. It's nice looking, the front water loading is convenient, the coffee tastes good, but I wouldn't buy it again because of the temperature issue.
3rd Customer Review : Leaks
I had the same leaking problem that another reviewer had. After about 1 month of daily use this unit starts leaking from the back and liquid coffee goes down to the warming plate making a mess and causing a burnt coffee smell. The company kindly sent me another unit but the same thing happened. So now they are sending me a second replacement and I chose a different model which hopefully will be more reliable. But based on the review on that unit I am not optimistic that unit is any better.

1st Customer Review : Fits under an upper cabinet
Ordered this to replace a 2 year old version of the same model. Excellent coffeemaker. In addition to good coffee the unit is unique in that one can fill the water reservoir and coffee basket without having to pull the unit out from under an upper cabinet. Nearly all other coffeemakers have such large lids that it is impossible to open the water reservoir while the unit is under a cabinet. With this unit the coffee basket rotates out from the coffeemaker bringing the basket closer for filling both coffee and water.

We love the design and will purchase another one after this wears out.

It works , the problem so far is the plastic they used to view how much water is in the unit, it isn't clear plastic but rather opaque and the water level is difficult to see.
The clock/timer is way too slow to operate, I really dislike it.
I sent in the rebate offer and we'll see if send the $10.

Update:
(1)The basket is falling apart after one week.
Customer service doesn't stock the part so I used a glue gun for a temporary fix.
(2)A month later, no rebate check and still no basket.
(3)Still no rebate check and still no basket.
downgraded to 1 star for poor customer service.
This is my last DeLonghi product.
(4)Two months later still no basket and no rebate.
3rd Customer Review : Don't buy it.
I purchased this unit over a year ago and after a few months it began leaking. I called customer service and they said it might be the basket, although they said there was no "wide-spread" problem. The new basket worked for several more months but then the unit began leaking all over the counter again. When I called customer service they once again denied that this was a common problem. A search of the internet looking for delonghi DCF 212T problems will show that this is a very common problem. I was told if I cut off the cord and sent it in with $15 they would send me a new unit as a "good will" gesture. I will most likely pay the $15 to get a new unit but can not believe DeLonghi would produce such an inferior product and then repeatedly deny any responsibility. Shame on Them! I have bought my last DeLonghi product.

1st Customer Review : Love the design but drips when you pour
I replaced our old basic coffee machine because after 10 years, the carafe began to leak when you pour. Unfortunately, the new one leaks more! Coffee brews slowly (I like stronger coffee so I use the aroma button) and it could be hotter but really no complaints with the coffee once you get some in your cup. I have tried aligning the arrows, opening the lid a little more, opening a little less. but the carafe just leaks when you pour into your coffee cup unless you completely remove the lid. Pass on this one unless you have alot of patience and don't mind wiping the counter after you pour.

2nd Customer Review : Great coffee maker for a patient person
I have had this Coffee maker for about a month now and really like the way it performs. The coffee brews slowly with the aroma button on and it comes out strong (be sure to set the timer about 20 mins before you get up and you will be fine.) It fits well under my counter and I do not have to slide it out to fill each time which is a nice feature. This would be a five star coffee maker if it did not take so long to fill your cup. With the arrows aligned on the carafe it just pours out slowly. If you try to rush it by tipping the carafe too much it dribbles all over the counter. The only thing you can do is to take the lid off and pour. The thermal carafe does keep the coffee hot 2-3 hours after brewing and warm most of the day. Overall I like this coffee maker and if it would only pour out faster it would be perfect.
3rd Customer Review : Can't get the perfect pour? I have the solution.
I read a lot of reviews on this coffee maker before purchasing. Many of them complain about a skimpy pour that when tilted more causes a spill. Here is the trick. Line up the arrow with the spillway. Grasp the lid and pull up. This opens a larger space to pour out of and voila a near perfect pour.

I do like this thermal coffee maker for the price. My last one was a Cuisinart, however, I could not afford that model this time around. I always use the Aroma setting. It takes a bit longer but makes a better cup. The thermal carafe does not keep the coffee hot long enough in my opinion. I like to pour a cup throughout the morning and by the last cup I have warm coffee not hot. All-in-all the brew is good for the price.
