1st Customer Review : Delonghi coffee maker
This is our second coffee maker by Delonghi. We love the front-load style. We had a 2 instances of leaking such as is DeLonghi DCF2212T 12-Cup Glass Carafe Drip Coffee Maker, Blackdescribed in former revues. With the first coffee maker, we adjusted our thinking to make sure the access was completely open. After that, we had no problem. We didn't like the lip of the carafe because it inevitably dripped on the counter unless you poured extrememly slow.
The newer model of the same coffee maker has been a dream. First thing we noticed was the redesigned lip on the carafe. It has not dripped one bit. Also, even though the design of the front loader looks the same, we have not had one instance of leaking. The coffee comes out too hot to drink for me, but my husband loves it that way...so it's just about a perfect coffee maker for us. I like this iron in general. I like it especially for the steam generator ability. However, this is my third iron that has broken and rowenta does not back them up. On all three irons the button that you push for steam has popped and quits working. I would not recommend this iron to anyone.
3rd Customer Review : PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING! No on/off switch!
I have owned Rowenta Steam Irons and Generators for almost 20 years, they are typically one of my favorite items, and I have been very satisfied with them until now. This model works great, BUT.........there is NO ON/OFF switch. You have to plug it in to turn it on, and unplug it to turn it off. There is nothing in the instructions or in any of the materials that mentions this, come on Rowenta you can and should do better!

1st Customer Review : Nice kettle, no features
I got this kettle about a month ago and I love the look of it! It works fast (maybe about 2 minutes to boil a half filled kettle) and is simple, yet it doesn't have really any features. It simply has an on/off switch, and it will automatically turn itself off once it reaches boiling. Other kettles in this price range have options to set the temperature you would like or to keep the water warm once it has reached boiling. Another thing to note is that this kettle is VERY noisy. I thought I could bring it to work and set it on my desk, but I decided against that after hearing it. Since this is my first kettle, I'm not sure how it compares to others, just be forewarned that it isn't quiet. Overall, since I was mostly choosing this one for the look of it anyway and to get hot water, it serves its purpose. The Magenta color is great and it looks cool on my counter (although I will also note that the stainless does get pretty hot to the touch once boiling - not so hot that you can't touch...

Update: November 2012

Like a few other reviewers - this kettle is now leaking from the on/off switch. Six months old - so within warranty - but it leaks. I'll attach photos - but this is now going from a 5 star review to 2 stars.

May 2012:

Our old kettle had a broken switch - so it's off to Amazon to look for something new.

We chose this kettle primarily because it was red - but also because it was good looking and nice and simple. There is one switch - ON/OFF - and one additional catch to open the lid.

We were impressed with how quiet it was during boiling - and it took around six minutes to boil a full kettle of cold tap water to a rolling boil.

Pros:

I just got this kettle in orange after seeing it in a magazine. I've been using a Russell Hobbs electric kettle for the last 15 years and needed to retire it. This kettle is sleek, beautiful, and efficient. I especially like the fact that it takes up less space than my old kettle because of it's height. I just think that this is the perfect kettle and, I gotta admit, I can be a little bit of a perfectionist when it comes to things I use daily. It's visually pleasing and built to last.

Here is the review I wrote when I purchased this in February, 2005:

This review is based on a latte a day for about a month now.

-Customer service was great: one part got jammed during shipment (despite how extraordinarily well the manufacturer had it packed inside the box!). I called and a person answered the phone right away who helped me figure out the problem.

-Thus far, the espresso comes out hot with a great crema, and my milk is also nice and hot (from 120-160 Fahrenheit depending on how you want it) and well-frothed (meaning microfoam(!) not seafoam). With the frother it's essential to keep the full rubber head (meaning the fat part) submerged in the milk to get it hot (including the intake air vents on the side).

Bottom line: I am very impressed that this quality comes at such a great price.

And my current thoughts in January, 2012: this machine is still going strong. At one point it began to leak due to a clog in the...

2nd Customer Review : An Excellent Machine
All I can say is WOW! My teenage daughters and I love espresso & designer lattes, This machine made it a BREEZE for us to give up all the overpriced designer cafes in our area. My brother is a coffee snob and spent literally thousands on a fully automated Capresso machine. You could buy a couple dozen of these Breville machines for the price of his.. and you know what? It's a few seconds more work but the coffee is JUST AS GOOD!

One of my daughters is visually impaired and she can work the machine and clean it with no problems.

Assembly was easy, cleanup is easy, and making three different beverages in seconds is a breeze, too. We have three completely different tastes so we've managed quite a few different drinks. I make sugar free soy lattes using Soy Slender and sugar free DaVinci flavors. We've frothed skim, 2%, whole and soy milks of every type. Even heavy whipping cream and half & half froth perfectly.

I know about coffee, espresso, steam machines, pump machines and all. This machine makes almost perfect espressos. This is due not to the quality of the machine but to the double wall filters that come with it. That being said, people who are thinking of buying this unit have to know that the same filters that produce the great crema they love will get clogged after 2 or three uses, and cleaning them will require a lot of work (unclogging the tiny holes with a pin, soaking the filters overnight in vinegar and/or running a lot of pressurizedboiling water through the empty filter), wasting a lot of unused coffee, and worst of all...wasting a lot of time to do all this (which hardly anyone has these days). I guess this problem would be solved if the pump was strong enough to push through the clogged filter, but that is not the case. When the pressurized water builds up, instead of going through the filter and coffee, it will go backwards and down to the reservoir in the bottom of the...

1st Customer Review : Right size for two cappuccinos
I am using this to froth about 6 oz of milk for two cappuccinos, and it is just the right size. After frothing the foam rises to about 2/3 - 3/4 of the pitcher volume, so one pours at a comfortable starting angle without spilling a drop. The pronounced spout is also helpful in this respect. This pitcher is very easy to clean and looks great beside our stainless espresso machine.

Don't buy a frothing pitcher that doesn't have a pour spout! We love this pitcher and it pours without making a mess. 20oz is full to the top, so when making large lattes for two we usually end-up doing a pitcher and a half. If you regularly brew two large lattes, you might want a 32oz pitcher.
3rd Customer Review : Solid!
This is a very strong pitcher. Thick steel. The handle is spot welded with 3 weld at the top of handel and 3 at the bottom. Expect it to last. The spout is tapered at the tip and pours very precisely.

1st Customer Review : Functional design. Perfect size for a single cappuccino.
The tapered shape and flared handle make this pitcher easy to maneuver under any size frothing arm. I also own an RSVP brand frothing pitcher which is much prettier than the Krups, but I personally find the Krups handle more comfortable to use. I'm not dissing RSVP here; they make a great little pitcher too. I'm just saying that as the owner of both brands, I'd have to give a slight nod to Krups for the comfort of their flared handle.

While the 12-ounce size is just right for a single cappuccino, buy the next size up (20-ounce) if you're planning to make lattes or more than one drink at a time. Once the frothing process really gets going, the 12-punce pitcher fills up quicker than you'd think.

2nd Customer Review : Works nicely with the Delonghi
I bought this to use with the DeLonghi EC155 Espresso MakerDeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker. It fits nicely under the steam wand (only if you use it at the edge of the counter, or if the Delonghi is raised on a platform or some sort. That makes it easier to get the tilt of the steam pitcher under the wand.

It's a nice build- the handle feels sturdy. I've used it to steam/froth milk, make chai lattes.
3rd Customer Review : Nice, but order the bigger size
It's a nice looking pitcher, but I recommend you order the 20-oz. size instead. I thought this would work for me because I only make a single latte at a time, but this pitcher isn't really big enough for a decent sized latte. Might work fine for single-shot beverages, but for me, I need the next size up.
