Title : New Metro Design Beater Blade for Cuisinart, DeLonghi, & Viking 7-Quart Mixers, White
Description : New Metro Design’s Beater Blade is an electric mixer attachment which thoroughly mixes batter, eliminating the need to stop and scrape the bowl manually. Engineered for use with top brand electric stand mixers, including most models offered by KitchenAid, Cuisinart, DeLonghi and Viking, the new Beater Blade beats, scrapes, folds and incorporates ingredients thoroughly for fool-proof baking. The new Beater Blade+ ingeniously improves on the functionality of standard V-shaped beaters offered with high-end stand mixers by crafting a high-quality, enhanced blade that includes a flexible rubber wing down the entire length of both sides of the blade. The durable, food-grade edging simulates the action of a powerful spatula to gently, yet thoroughly scrape the bowl clean. The wing-system design acts like a wiper blade that continuously scrapes sides and bottom of bowl while it mixes virtually eliminating hand-scraping and batter build-up on the blade. BeaterBlade’s state-of-the-art design continuously and automatically scrapes batters during mixing, which can speed up the process by as much as 50 percent. By eliminating the need to turn off and on the mixer to scrape the bowl, Beater Blade reduces wear of the motor of the mixer, as well. New Metro Design’s Beater Blade excels in a full range of mixing applications, including creaming butter, sugar and eggs to fluffy perfection, and preparing frostings and pastry creams quickly and easily. Model KA-TH fits all KitchenAid tilt head mixers regardless of the KitchenAid model numbers.

1st Customer Review :
Your Use Will Determine The Beater Blade's Value to YouI purchased the Beater Blade to use with my Viking 7-Qt. mixer; my primary use of that machine is making artisan breads.
I love my Viking mixer for bread making, but occasionally use it to make cookies which contain a high proportion of oatmeal. Thus, the dry ingredients are prone to gathering along the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl and require that I stop the mixer, lift the head and move the ingredients using a spatula. While that isn't exactly a Herculean task, it is annoying. However, due to a stubborn streak and a less than industrious attitude on the particular day, I tried scraping the side of the bowl while the mixer was down and moving - even though I know better. The result was a broken spatula - just as one would expect.
When I saw this Beater Blade, I thought it might solve the problem. Once you have adjusted the Beater Blade, it does an excellent job of clearing the sides and bottom of the bowl. If you mix a lot of cookie dough or...
2nd Customer Review :
DISAPPOINTEDWhile I initially liked the blade for its scraping ability, despite the necessity of many minute initial adjustments, I was greatly disappointed tonight when the shaft split in two, despite the fact that I don't use my mixer for anything all that heavy (cookie dough mostly). Be warned.

Update - Broken!I bought this item a little over a year ago, and loved it so much that I bought another.
I bake infrequently, mostly around the holidays, and when I started baking last week the post to this blade snapped right off. Muttering to myself I put the other blade on the mixer and it broken off too, exactly the same way!
These babies aren't cheap, and I expected better for the money. I'm very disappointed!
Update 12/8/10 - I contacted the manufacturer and they replaced both blades free of charge. I see that the replacement blades are made of a different material, so I'm hopeful that a design flaw has been corrected. Good to know that Metro Blades stands behind it's product!
